Children of 1908: Garments for young children

Butterick #4110 is a dress suitable for a young boy or girl. It features pintucks on the shoulders and at center front, giving overall fullness to the dress that is echoed in the full sleeves. Insertion lace is used in the high collar and the flounces at the bottom of the dress.

This pattern was available in four sizes, for 1/2, 1, 3 and 5 years.

Butterick #2779 is similarly suitable for a young boy or girl, but it was available in six sizes, from 1/2 to 5 years old. This dress features a yoke with insertion lace, and the fullness of the dress stems from the groups of pintucks that cascade from the yoke.
